Join Our Team as a Class A CDL Driver!

General Equipment & Supply is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our growing team. This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy being on the road and are comfortable with frequent overnight travel.

OTR travel is a core requirement of this role. Approximately 65% of trips involve travel outside of South Carolina , requiring multi-state deliveries and overnight stays. Candidates must be willing and able to spend extended periods on the road while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and DOT compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport tools, equipment, and materials to customer locations and job sites throughout the Southeast and beyond.
• Complete local and Over-the-Road (OTR) deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Secure, load, and unload equipment and materials as required.
• Maintain accurate trip records and delivery documentation.
• Represent General Equipment & Supply professionally at customer sites.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of OTR driving experience strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight and work multi-state routes on a regular basis.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and transportation safety practices.
• Experience transporting and securing equipment and materials.
• TWIC Card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to lift, load, and unload materials safely.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Heavy equipment operating experience.
• Forklift certification or experience.
• LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping experience.
• Shipping and receiving knowledge.
• Basic computer and electronic logging system experience.
