Some flex Overview Seeking a strategic and proactive Business Development Manager to support the Intellectual Property (IP) practice group. This role is ideal for a BD Specialist ready to step up or an experienced BD Manager with law firm experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with IP group goals Lead pitch and proposal development, including RFP responses Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities Manage client events, sponsorships, and thought leadership initiatives Collaborate with attorneys on client targeting and relationship development Oversee directory submissions and awards (e.g., Chambers, IAM Patent 1000) Maintain marketing collateral, bios, and experience databases Support integration of lateral hires into BD initiatives Qualifications 4–7+ years of BD or marketing experience in a law firm or professional services environment Strong understanding of Intellectual Property law (patent litigation, prosecution, licensing) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams Experience with CRM systems and legal marketing tools Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or JD a plus Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Business Development and Marketing Industries Legal Services and Law Practice Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Taylor Root by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Get notified when a new job is posted.
