ProStart Affiliate Instructor, School of Hospitality

Department Hospitality, Tourism & Events Responsibilities Teach 3+ credit hours in subject areas including, but not limited to, ProStart, Culinary, Introduction to Hotel, and Introduction to Event Management. Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff. Effectively infuse technology into coursework. Be available for student consultation. Prepare course materials, lesson plans, and grading rubrics. Provide robust, timely student feedback and academic support. Deliver instruction consistent with the regular course syllabus and department policies. Comply with university‑wide student evaluation and peer observation policies. Adapt to new modes of instruction as required. Demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required Qualifications Completion of a master’s degree in the field of instruction or an associate’s degree or higher in a hospitality‑related discipline plus substantial professional experience that clearly links to the teaching area. If the master’s degree is outside the teaching field, an increased expectation of substantial professional work experience in that discipline. Preferred Qualifications Nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to the teaching field (e.g., CEC, FMP). Terms of Employment Part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. Classes are on campus upon hire.
