About the Facility Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC)

Hopi Health Care Center is a Joint Commission-accredited Critical Access Hospital and the only healthcare facility on the Hopi Reservation, serving approximately 18,000 people. HHCC provides 24/7 Emergency Department services, a four-bed short-stay inpatient unit, and business-day ambulatory services including medical, dental, physical therapy, optometry, and public health. Working at HHCC provides a unique opportunity to serve a historically underserved community while gaining valuable experience in rural nursing and Indian Health Service operations.

Inpatient RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in the HHCC four-bed short-stay inpatient unit.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient status.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with hospitalist physicians.
• Manage IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and other bedside nursing interventions.
• Communicate with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress.
• Document all clinical encounters in the EHR per facility policies.

Inpatient RN Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical or inpatient nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Rural/remote, Critical Access Hospital, or IHS/Tribal healthcare experience preferred.

12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM 7:00 AM), blocks of 57 consecutive shifts. Coverage includes weekends and holidays.
