Property Field Claims Adjuster (Cincinnati, OH)

Position Summary You will work in the field and report to the Property Claim Manager, handling homeowner property field claims in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. You must be located within this area. A company fleet vehicle is provided with the position and there's an option to use the vehicle for personal use. In this primarily field‑based role, you will spend 80% of your time working in the field, directly interacting with customers. On occasion, you may be asked to travel to an office location for in‑person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and cultural events. Position Compensation Range: $69,000.00 – $115,000.00. Pay Rate Type: Salary. Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Primary Accountabilities Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, and public personnel. Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed. Handle claims on a good‑faith basis, both first‑party and third‑party under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements. Conduct on‑site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate claims with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters. Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files as needed. Interpret and determine policies, leases, by‑laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply them to all parties for assigned losses. Make independent decisions and self‑supervise most files, recognizing when assistance is needed. Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status as appropriate, answering questions or redirecting to other areas. Serve as a mentor and subject‑matter expert for less experienced adjusters. May be required to complete other assignments, job duties, or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements Demonstrated experience providing customer‑driven solutions, support or service. Demonstrated experience handling first‑ and third‑party, multi‑line claims. Experience handling simple to moderately complex claims. Extensive knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements. Extensive knowledge of each phase of the claim‑handling process. Experience with Xactimate. Previous property field claims adjusting experience preferred, along with estimate‑writing experience and/or a strong construction background. Licenses Valid driver’s license required plus an acceptable driving record. Obtain state‑specific property casualty claims licensing as required. Travel Requirements Up to 50% travel. Catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable. Physical Requirements Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. May be required to visit areas with higher hazard than a typical office such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations. Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. Adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Work under low temperatures, high temperatures, precipitation, wind, noisy environments, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
