Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students ages 11-16 within a private special education setting. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) is an excellent fit for passionate special education teachers ready to make a meaningful impact over an academic year, from July 2026 through July 2027.

You’ll work closely with a small group—approximately seven students—focusing on individualized instruction and specialized support. The environment is collaborative and resource-rich, ideal for educators who value responsive teaching and targeted interventions.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher (CT SPED) certification is required.
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students in grades corresponding to ages 11–16.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instructional practices.
• Experience working in private special education schools or similar environments preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including related service providers and families.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communication logs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the planning process.
• Implement positive behavioral supports and classroom management strategies.
