Senior Operations Manager - Janitorial & Floor Care Operations

The Senior Operations Manager provides strategic and hands‑on leadership for a large commercial janitorial and floor care operation. This role oversees daily service delivery, develops operational leaders, drives continuous improvement, and ensures consistent execution of quality, safety, and customer service standards. This position requires a highly visible field leader who can effectively balance operational strategy with hands‑on execution, build strong teams, and deliver measurable results. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Provide overall leadership and direction for janitorial and floor care operations Oversee daily service execution, ensuring quality standards and contractual requirements are consistently met Lead supervisors, managers, and frontline associates through coaching, accountability, and performance management Conduct regular operational reviews, facility inspections, and quality audits Identify opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery, and operational efficiency Develop and execute action plans to address performance gaps Lead commercial cleaning and specialty floor care programs, including: Daily janitorial services Floor stripping and refinishing Waxing and recoating Burnishing and polishing Deep cleaning programs Specialty cleaning projects Ensure teams are trained and equipped to execute proper cleaning procedures and floor care standards Drive consistency in equipment utilization, chemical management, safety practices, and quality expectations: Lead, mentor, and develop operational leaders, supervisors, and frontline emplo yeesBuild a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improve mentEstablish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feed backPartner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources on staffing, onboarding, retention, and workforce plan ningIdentify and develop future leaders within the organization Serve as a key operational partner to the client, ensuring exceptional service delivery and satisfa ctionBuild strong relationships through proactive communication and responsiv enessLead resolution of service concerns, escalations, and operational chall engesParticipate in performance reviews and operational discus sionsIdentify opportunities to enhance service quality and strengthen the client partnership Financial & Business Management: Manage operational performance through effective labor planning, scheduling, and resource allo cationMonitor labor utilization, overtime, supplies, and operating ex pensesAnalyze performance metrics and implement strategies to improve r esultsSupport financial objectives through operational discipline and continuous impro vementEnsure resources are effectively aligned to meet service expections Required Qualifications: 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial janitorial services, facilities management, environmental services, or integrated facilities s ervicesExperience managing large-scale facility operations with significant hourly wor kforcesStrong background in commercial floor care programs and specialty cleaning s ervicesProven experience leading supervisors, managers, and frontlin e teamsExperience managing client relationships within a contracted services envi ronmentStrong understanding of labor management, scheduling, quality control, and safety pr acticesDemonstrated ability to improve operational performance and develop high-performin g teamsExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility to provide hands‑on leadership within an active facility environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with a national facilities services provider or commercial cleaning orga nizationExperience managing large corporate, industrial, aviation, healthcare, manufacturing, or high‑traffic fa cilitiesBackground managing complex service operations with high customer expe ctationsBilingual English/Spanish p referredExperience with WinTeam or similar facilities management platforms Ideal Candidate Profile The successful candidates is: A hands‑on operational leader who leads from the fieldExperienced managing large janitorial or facilities serv ice teamsKnowledgeable in commercial floor care processes and quality standardsSkilled at developing supervisors and building str ong teamsComfortable managing client expectations while driving operationa l resultsPassionate about service excellence and continuous im provement Why Join Velociti Services?
