Description
  • Conduct evaluations for a diverse range of patients, including pediatric, adult, and elderly populations through both standardized assessments and observational strategies.
  • Design individualized treatment plans that encompass immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caretakers, and families to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to encourage progress beyond the therapy room.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a consistent care experience throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain precise documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within first 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based speech therapy techniques across all age groups, with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Capability to adjust therapy methods to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment with strong problem-solving competencies.
  • Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and maintaining documentation standards.
