Storage Coordinator

Location: East Aurora, NY Duration: 6-12 Months

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate official property records in databases and excel formats for all Government/Customer property in storage which are audited by Government and Customer personnel.
• Identify and sort items sent to storage by program and property type, create/update property records for each item. Verify quantities received agree with receiving documentation, document and report discrepancies.
• Ensures all movement/shipment of government property into and out of storage is accomplished as directed both internally and externally. Update status and locations of movements, including reporting any damage resulting from the movement.
• Ensure items issued from storage are being utilized on the program they are accountable to or written authorization has been granted by the Contracting Officer for the requesting program.
• Release items requiring calibration to the calibration department for calibration before being issued to requesting department.
• Perform and report results of the annual physical inventory of Government-owned Property.
• Actively participate in Government and Customer Audits including locating and verifying sample items are correctly identified and used only for the program they are accountable to, and responding to auditors inquiries.
• Responsible for disposal of government property, i.e. creating spreadsheets of excess and scrap property for reporting to customers and government agencies, and following government disposition directions including shipping, destruction and demilitarization.
• Responsible for housekeeping, keeping the storage area neat and orderly and organized. Special projects as assigned.

Basic Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs. Physically be on his/her feet constantly Fork truck certification/experience Able to work alone, unmonitored Proper packaging and handling techniques are necessary to prevent damage to government/customer property and to prevent personal injury. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are necessary as this position requires a great deal of tact and experience in dealing with personnel at all levels including Government and Customer auditors. A high degree of organization and administrative ability is essential. The incumbent must be meticulous in detail and accuracy and have an analytic approach to problem solving. This position requires a self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work on his/her own initiative. The incumbent must be able to anticipate and react to readily changing priorities and adjust required tasks accordingly. Ability to learn and understand customer requirements, government FAR and DFAR regulations and meet these requirements.
