The paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The paraprofessional helps special‑education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher. Duties include: Supervising and working with students one‑on‑one and in small groups when needed Assisting the teacher in the classroom Lifting, giving physical assistance, and assisting in the lunchroom, toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building Required qualifications: the applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment. This position is subject to a veterans preference.
