Executive Director of Student Management Systems - Marlborough Public Schools Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Title of Position: Executive Director of Student Management Systems Work Year: (12) Months / 260 Days Effective Date of Employment: July 1, 2026 Salary Range: $140,000 – $150,000 annually Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: The Executive Director of Student Management Systems reports directly to the Superintendent and serves as a member of the District Leadership Team. The Executive Director directly supervises and evaluates the following positions and body of work: Student Discipline and Behavioral Systems, Attendance and Re‑engagement Coach, Data Systems Administrator, Title IX Compliance Processes, Registration Center Staff, McKinney‑Vento, and Translation and Interpretation Services Personnel. The Executive Director may also oversee additional student support, compliance, and data management personnel as assigned. Summary: The Executive Director of Student Management Systems provides strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of the district’s student management infrastructure, ensuring that systems, processes, and practices support student engagement, attendance, belonging, safety, compliance, and overall student success. Statement of Duties: Strategic Leadership and Systems Alignment Develop and implement a districtwide vision for all student management systems aligned with the Marlborough Public Schools 2030 Strategic Plan and Portrait of a Learner. Ensure coherence, consistency, and alignment across student attendance, behavior, enrollment, compliance, and student information systems. Lead the development of integrated systems that support student engagement, connectedness, and access to educational opportunities. Collaborate with district leaders to identify and eliminate systemic barriers that negatively impact student participation, attendance, engagement, and achievement. Utilize continuous improvement processes to strengthen student management systems and organizational effectiveness. Partner directly with the Executive Director of Clinical Services. Student Discipline and Behavioral Systems Provide leadership and oversight of districtwide student discipline practices and behavioral management systems, including bullying prevention and intervention. Ensure implementation of fair, equitable, restorative, and educationally sound disciplinary practices. Monitor discipline data and trends to identify disparities and opportunities for improvement. Support school administrators in the consistent application of district policies, student codes of conduct, and disciplinary procedures. Lead district efforts to reduce exclusionary discipline practices and improve student connectedness and engagement. Support the coordination of disciplinary hearings and related compliance requirements as necessary. Attendance and Student Re‑engagement Lead districtwide attendance improvement initiatives. Supervise and support the Attendance and Re‑engagement Coach. Develop systems for identifying, monitoring, and supporting students experiencing chronic absenteeism. Coordinate cross‑departmental interventions that address attendance barriers and improve student engagement. Analyze attendance trends and implement targeted strategies to improve student participation and school connectedness. Ensure compliance with state attendance regulations and reporting requirements. Data Management and Student Information Systems Oversee the integrity, accuracy, security, and effective use of student data systems. Develop systems and protocols to ensure high‑quality data collection, reporting, analysis and action planning. Collaborate with district leaders to leverage data for strategic decision‑making and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with federal and state student privacy regulations. Coordinate state reporting requirements and data submissions. Support schools in utilizing student data to improve outcomes and inform interventions. Title IX Compliance Serve as the district’s Title IX Coordinator or oversee Title IX coordination processes. Ensure compliance with all federal and state Title IX requirements. Coordinate investigations, documentation, training, and reporting procedures related to Title IX matters. Maintain district policies and procedures regarding discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Provide training and support to administrators and staff regarding compliance responsibilities. Collaborate with legal counsel and district leadership as necessary. Registration and Enrollment Services Oversee the district Registration Center and all student enrollment processes. Ensure equitable, efficient, and family‑friendly enrollment procedures. Ensure McKinney‑Vento Act eligibility, requirements and support for students. Monitor enrollment trends and demographic data to support district planning efforts. Develop systems that facilitate smooth student transitions into and between schools. Ensure compliance with residency verification, enrollment regulations, and district policies. Collaborate with schools and departments to support student onboarding and family engagement. Translation and Interpretation Services Oversee district translation and interpretation services. Ensure meaningful language access for multilingual students and families. Develop systems that support equitable communication across all district programs and services. Ensure compliance with federal and state language access requirements. Coordinate translation and interpretation resources for district communications, meetings, and family engagement activities. Promote culturally responsive practices that strengthen partnerships with diverse families and communities. Data, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement Establish measurable goals and performance indicators for all areas of responsibility. Monitor discipline, attendance, enrollment, language access, and student information system metrics. Analyze trends and develop action plans to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Prepare reports and presentations for the Superintendent, School Committee, and District Leadership Team. Utilize data to support strategic planning and operational decision‑making. Professional Development and Capacity Building Design and facilitate professional learning related to attendance improvement, restorative practices, student information systems, data integrity, Title IX compliance, and family engagement. Build district capacity to implement equitable and effective student management systems. Foster a culture of equity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all departments. Qualifications Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, Public Administration, Student Affairs, Data Management, or related field required. Massachusetts licensure as a Supervisor/Director, Principal/Assistant Principal, or equivalent administrative credential required. Minimum of five years of successful educational leadership experience required. Minimum of three years of successful supervisory experience required. Demonstrated experience with student information systems, student services, compliance, attendance initiatives, or school administration required. Experience leading attendance, discipline, enrollment, compliance, or data management systems preferred. Experience serving as a Title IX Coordinator or managing compliance processes preferred. Experience working with multilingual communities and language access services preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Deep understanding of student engagement, attendance improvement, restorative practices, and student discipline systems. Knowledge of student information systems, educational data management, and reporting requirements. Strong understanding of Title IX, FERPA, and related federal and state regulations. Knowledge of enrollment, residency, and registration processes. Understanding of language access requirements and culturally responsive family engagement practices. Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple complex systems while maintaining a student‑centered focus. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
