Human Resources (HR) Investigation Specialist

Overview Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a privately‑held company based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is seeking a qualified HR Investigation Specialist. This full‑time position is located at Hobby Lobby’s corporate campus in Oklahoma City and works closely with the HR/Benefits/Leave/Legal Department. Responsibilities Work with management to investigate complaints of prohibited conduct. Develop investigative plans, analyze complaints, interview witnesses, gather evidence, and document findings within tight deadlines. Guide managers and HR professionals through the investigative process. Educate managers on personnel issues in accordance with federal, state, and municipal laws and company policies. Switch between investigative duties and HR specialist responsibilities, including ADA and the Interactive Process. Help management resolve employee concerns and complaints in compliance with company policy, philosophy, and applicable laws. Provide compliance resources to management regarding federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain detailed work records. Qualifications Knowledge of human resources management principles and practices. Understanding of federal employment laws and regulations (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.). Working knowledge of state and local laws preferred. At least 3 years of experience conducting HR investigations. At least 3 years of experience advising on employee relations and HR policies (multistate preferred). Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate sensitively. Ability to prioritize multiple demands and work under tight deadlines. Proven ability to establish effective working relationships remotely or via phone/email. Positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook. SAP experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Schedule and Work Hours This is not a remote position. Current department hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 30‑minute lunch, or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 1‑hour lunch. Evening and/or Saturday work may be required at times. Benefits Competitive wages.
