Information Technology Manager

As the IT Manager at ChoiceLocal, you own the full technology environment that keeps our teammates productive, secure, and set up to do their best work: hardware, systems, security, vendors, and the everyday support that makes technology feel invisible. This is a hands‑on role for a proactive, outgoing technology professional who doesn’t wait to be asked: someone who spots what needs fixing, automating, or improving before it becomes a problem, and who genuinely enjoys being the face of IT for a growing team. Summary: In the near term, that includes finishing and then maintaining our migration from Microsoft to Google Workspace, but that’s one project within a much broader role, not the role itself. You also own how ChoiceLocal’s information is organized so that every teammate instantly knows where important information lives, in a way that’s simple, intuitive, and easy to use, and you champion the use of AI, trained on all things ChoiceLocal, so teammates can ask AI what to do in a given situation and get an answer that reflects the CL view, our best practices, and our process. Responsibilities: Own the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of every tool and system ChoiceLocal relies on, while also being a visible, approachable presence for teammates. Hardware, software, and connectivity issues are resolved quickly and accurately for every teammate. New hires have a warm, seamless onboarding experience, with devices ready, accounts provisioned, and a friendly face walking them through their tech on day one. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are administered securely and efficiently, with the Google Workspace migration completed and then maintained as a stable, well‑run environment. User accounts, permissions, licensing, and access controls are accurate and current across all systems. Network infrastructure, security, and system reliability continuously improve. Endpoint devices are provisioned, updated, and compliant with security standards. Data backup, recovery, and business continuity processes are in place, tested, and effective. Vendor relationships, software licensing, and technology procurement deliver strong value for ChoiceLocal. New automations and process improvements are regularly proposed and implemented, reducing manual work across the business. IT processes, systems, and standard operating procedures are documented and kept current. Company information is organized in a simple, comprehensive way, so that everyone in the company just knows where important information lives, intuitively and easily. Teammates and partners experience instant clarity on where information resides, making the organization better for partners and better for teammates alike. AI trained on all things ChoiceLocal is available to teammates, giving answers that fit the CL view, our best practices, and our process, to grow client partners and keep them happy. AI is utilized to market ChoiceLocal more efficiently. Qualifications: 3–5 years of hands‑on IT administration and support experience. Proven ability to administer and troubleshoot both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments. Experience managing IT security, user access, and endpoint devices. Experience supporting a Microsoft‑to‑Google Workspace migration preferred. Comfortable being the face of IT, with experience leading onboarding, training, or other teammate‑facing initiatives preferred. Experience building automations or scripts to eliminate manual work preferred. Familiarity with Slack, Zoom, and LastPass (or similar password management tools) preferred. Required Skills: Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) Identity and access management: SSO, MFA, Azure AD / Google Directory Endpoint management / MDM platforms and antivirus / endpoint security tools Backup and disaster recovery solutions Network administration (routers, firewalls, VPNs) Cloud storage and file migration Basic scripting for automation (PowerShell, Google Apps Script) Information architecture and knowledge management systems (wikis, intranets, shared drives) AI tools and platforms, including training/fine‑tuning on internal knowledge bases and prompt engineering Preferred Skills: Proactivity: Anticipates needs and opportunities rather than waiting for a ticket, and regularly brings new ideas, tools, and automations to leadership. Outgoing and People‑Oriented: Genuinely enjoys engaging with people and is a warm, approachable, visible presence for teammates, especially new hires. Ownership and Accountability: Executes IT operations with a high level of accuracy and accountability, maintaining system reliability, security, and business continuity. Problem Solving: Diagnoses and resolves technical issues with sound judgment, keeping the business running smoothly through periods of transition and growth. Communication: Maintains strong communication and collaboration across teams, keeping the business informed and supported. Continuous Improvement: Delivers measurable improvements in efficiency, uptime, and user support while modernizing ChoiceLocal’s technology stack.
