Overview:

A Quality Visual Inspector is responsible for inspecting manufactured components and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and production requirements. This role identifies defects, documents inspection results, and works closely with production teams to maintain product quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of components and finished products throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify and document defects, nonconforming materials, and quality concerns according to established procedures.
• Use inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, and other measuring devices as required.
• Verify product dimensions, appearance, labeling, and packaging meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Accurately record inspection results, quality data, and nonconformance reports.
• Segregate and properly identify defective or suspect materials.
• Communicate quality issues to production, engineering, and supervisory personnel to support corrective actions.
• Follow quality standards, work instructions, and inspection procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in quality audits as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or production environments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
• Basic knowledge of quality control processes and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and repetitive motions during inspections.
• Ability to distinguish colors, patterns, and small defects accurately.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Experience working in electronics, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
