This role directs the activities of the extrusion, converting, printing, and recycling departments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, production schedules, and quality standards. Responsibilities include planning work, assigning tasks, assisting in hiring, training new employees, and consistently enforcing company policies.ResponsibilitiesPromote workplace safety and lead the team's Safety ProgramLead safety discussions with associates, and audit their safety practices during walk aroundsBe present for scheduled shifts and attend management team meetings, as necessaryReview, suggest improvements, and adhere to the issued production scheduleEvaluate staffing levels, maintain budgeted headcount for operational needs, and collaborate with HR to fill any gapsProvide on the job training for associates in all areas of their job dutiesUphold housekeeping standards by inspecting each line and updating line charts with relevant data and commentsAssist in planning for job changes with line technicians and conduct daily audits of operator performanceIdentify limiting factors of production and make recommendations for continual improvementPrepare work orders for repairs, submit requisitions for replacement of equipment, and submit requests for preventive maintenanceDocument department procedure and work instructions, updating as neededApprove time and attendance records and assignments across multiple departments using timekeeping softwareAccurately complete production reports and detail run time reportsCollaborate with HR to conduct coaching sessions for associatesAdhere to and consistently enforce company policiesMaintain accurate records for safety, production, scrap quality, and HREnsure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), including QA scrap and first piece approvalsSchedule regular communication meetings to promote team building and continuous improvementReport all safety, human resources, quality, scrap and production issues to managerAttend training seminars, as requiredPerform additional duties as assigned by managementEducationHigh School Diploma or Associate’s DegreeExperience5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturingKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesPE Blown Film experience, preferredAbility to individually coach and provide performance managementProven track record of meeting quantitative metricsExcellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skillsContinuous Improvement – create and implement projectsStrong and effective leadership with the ability to motivate a teamDedication to Quality Management SystemSafety, production, scrap and quality orientedExcel skills with the ability to chart, graph, and track inventoryProficient in blueprint reading and mechanical tasksEssential FunctionsRegular and Reliable AttendanceReadingWritingVisual AcuityAscend/Descend Stairways and Platforms with Heights of up to 50+ feetStanding for 12 hoursWalkingBendingTwistingReachingPushingPullingLifting/Carrying up to 30 pounds (higher weights require a two-person lift)Concentration #J-18808-Ljbffr Petoskey-Plastics
