Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with allergy experience to join a busy and growing allergy specialty practice in Plano. Schedule Monday, Tuesday, and Friday Hours will increase soon 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 1-hour lunch break Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Allergy Medical Assistant experience Must have experience administering allergy injections (allergy shots) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment Strong patient education and communication skills Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs Document histories, medications, and allergies Prepare patients for provider examinations Perform allergy skin prick and intradermal testing Administer allergy immunotherapy injections Monitor patients for adverse reactions following injections Assist with emergency response for severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis Perform spirometry and pulmonary function testing Administer medications and injections Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and infection control standards Document patient encounters in the EHR Administrative Responsibilities Schedule appointments, testing, and immunotherapy visits Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations Manage patient calls regarding treatments and allergy shot schedules Coordinate referrals and testing Maintain medical supplies and medications Ideal Candidate Strong knowledge of allergies, asthma, and immunology Experience with allergy testing and immunotherapy Ability to recognize and respond to allergic emergencies Detail-oriented and highly organized Comfortable educating both pediatric and adult patients Preferred Experience Allergy skin testing Allergy immunotherapy injections Spirometry and pulmonary function testing #J-18808-Ljbffr
