Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) position is based in a Level IV Trauma acute care medical center. This role involves the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instruments and supplies to ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital standards. The technician will support the surgical services team in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Endoscopy, OB GYN, Podiatry, ENT, Urology, and Dental procedures.

Job Details

• Certifications and Education: Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, NBSTSA, CSPDT) is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in sterile processing or surgical support.
• Location: Position is located in a healthcare facility approximately 50 miles from the candidates permanent residence.
• Schedule: Dayshift, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, from 09/21/2026 to 12/21/2026.
• Responsibilities: Including cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps, high-level disinfection, use of washers/sterilizers, case cart preparation, sterilization wrapping procedures, and equipment documentation.
• Additional Information: The assignment requires working a guaranteed minimum of 72 hours every two weeks. Candidates must be able to work the specified schedule and successfully complete orientation modules prior to start date.
