Project Engineer Manager

Job Title

Pay Range: $56.80hr - $61.80hr

Requirement/Must Have

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or any other related STEM program from an accredited university or college.
• 6+ years of related industry experience with increasing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work, plan schedules, and monitor engineering activities for customer projects.
• Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
• Develop specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serve as best practice/quality resource. Have awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contribute towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Have in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
• Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Take new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explain difficult or sensitive information; work to build consensus. Develop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within the field.
• Own the engineering execution of BOP-scoped Projects from Contract signature until the end of GE contractual obligations.
• Manage a cross functional Engineering team to master the risks and opportunities of the Contract.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to Project Management and GEs internal engineering teams.
• Review Customer specifications and communicate contract and project requirements to all design functions, utilizing internal documentation systems.
• Evaluate financial/schedule impact of customer-requested scope changes. Provide technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors, and Installation teams to ensure equipment meets all Customer requirements and business objectives.
• Enforce quality procedures and participate in their improvement.
• Assure the experience feedback by capturing issues (Lessons Learned). Work in a matrix organization with numerous interfaces: In house with mainly the Engineering departments of Belfort, Baden, Noida, Queretaro, Schenectady, and Greenville. In house with fellow PEMs and Project Coordinators. In house with project managers, quality, sourcing, logistics and scheduling. Externally with Customers, partners, EPCs, and subcontractors.
• Serve as Senior Project Engineering Manager, when assigned, to lead and facilitate a total project solution across all product lines: Global technical project focal point. Partner with project manager for customer/EPC meetings, etc. Drive consistent project requirement flow down across product lines (GT/ST/Gen/BOP) (Contractual/compliance). Drive functional resolution to technical project issues from a system level across product lines. Respect the contractual obligations while protecting customer satisfaction. Manage technical risks of the project. Drive project profitability according to the assigned budgets.
