Job Description
The Maintenance Technician keeps production and facility equipment running efficiently and safely in a foundry environment. This hands-on role combines mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills with a strong focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable operations. The position suits someone with a solid maintenance experience who can perform in a demanding, high-heat industrial setting while maintaining strong safety discipline and technical precision.
Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair industrial production machinery, including overhead cranes, sand mixers, conveyors, and other foundry equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on motors, belts, drives, filters, and related components to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems using appropriate tools, test equipment, and technical documentation.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of PLC programs and control components to identify root causes and restore equipment to proper operation.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment and protect personnel and equipment.
• Identify, report, and help correct unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and potential hazards promptly.
• Document maintenance activities accurately, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, to support maintenance history and planning.
• Track recurring equipment issues and communicate findings to supervisors to support long-term corrective actions and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with operators, engineers, and other maintenance staff to resolve operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively during installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Tradesman or journeyman certificates in a relevant field are a plus.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication is highly desirable.
• Experience in foundry, CNC, or cast melting maintenance is a strong plus.
• Experience with furnace and melting applications is desirable.
• Welding and fabrication skills to support equipment repair and modification.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operators and engineers.
• Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in enhancing equipment reliability and performance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $44.00/hr.
