Downtown Visalia, CA | Full-Time We’re looking for an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead the culinary development and opening of Oakmont Kitchen & Bar and Olive & Oak Deli, two new restaurant concepts coming to Downtown Visalia. For the right chef, this is a chance to do more than execute someone else’s menu. You’ll join the project before opening and have meaningful ownership of the menu, product, kitchen systems and culinary team from the beginning. Oakmont will be an elevated dinner-focused restaurant built around steaks, fresh pastas, seafood and modern American dishes. Olive & Oak will be a fast-casual Italian-inspired deli focused on exceptional sandwiches, fresh ingredients and consistent execution. What You’ll Own Culinary direction and menu development for both concepts Recipes, costing, specifications and execution standards BOH recruiting, training and team development Kitchen systems, workflow and pre-opening preparation Food quality and consistency Food cost, inventory, purchasing and waste controls Vendor and product relationships Kitchen culture, cleanliness and food safety Partnership with the General Manager and ownership team What We’re Looking For We want a chef who cares deeply about the product but also understands the business of running a successful restaurant. Someone creative without being impractical, demanding about standards while still developing people, and confident enough to take ownership while remaining collaborative. 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience is preferred, with Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine or comparable senior kitchen leadership experience strongly preferred. Restaurant-opening experience, scratch cooking, fresh pasta, steaks, seafood and high-volume production experience are all highly desirable. We’re looking for someone who wants to walk into an empty kitchen and help determine what it becomes.
