Qualifications
- Montessori Infant/Toddler Certification preferred (AMI/AMS/MACTE accredited)
- Early Childhood Education background preferred
- Associate Degree or comparable experience required for Lead positions
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field recommended
- Experience working with infants in a childcare or Montessori setting
- Strong understanding of infant development and caregiving practices
- Passion for Montessori philosophy and respectful caregiving
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a calm, nurturing, and patient demeanor
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Responsibilities
- Provide loving, responsive, and respectful care for infants
- Create and maintain a peaceful, safe, clean, and engaging Montessori infant environment
- Observe and support each child’s individual developmental needs and milestones
- Prepare developmentally appropriate activities and materials that encourage movement, language, sensory exploration, and independence
- Foster secure and trusting relationships with children and families
- Maintain consistent communication with families regarding children’s daily activities, development, feeding, sleeping, and milestones
- Follow all licensing guidelines and health/safety standards
- Implement Montessori philosophy and respectful caregiving practices throughout the day
- Support children during feeding, diapering, sleeping, and transitions with warmth and care
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to maintain a positive classroom culture
- Maintain accurate records and daily reports
- Encourage language development, social interaction, and emotional security
- Supervise children closely to ensure safety at all times
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
