About the Opportunity Epiq Counsel is seeking a Legal Settlement & Payments Analyst to support our client, a global technology leader, within its Legal Operations team. This role sits where legal meets finance. You’ll own a high-volume queue of payments for legal settlements, court orders, and regulatory fines across the client’s global legal teams. Each payment is yours from start to finish: collecting and checking the documentation, submitting the payment, and seeing it through to confirmed completion. This is not a support role on one step of the process. You’ll own the whole thing, and you’ll be the person Legal, Finance, Tax, and Treasury rely on when a non-standard payment needs to move. About the Client Our client is one of the world’s largest technology companies. Its Legal Operations team supports legal departments worldwide and works closely with Accounts Payable, Finance, Tax, Treasury, and supplier onboarding teams. Payment volume is high, many requests are non-standard, and deadlines are often tight. Key Details Engagement Type: Interim engagement (Epiq Counsel model) Duration: One year, with potential for extension Hours: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week Work Model: Remote Start Date: As soon as available Compensation: $83,000–$104,000 annualized ($40–50/hour) Benefits: Healthcare, 401(k), paid vacation, paid holidays, plus engagement support and coaching Responsibilities Settlement Payment Queue Management (40%) Manage and prioritize a high-volume queue of settlement, court order, and regulatory fine payments. Take each request end to end: document collection, then payment submission, then payment management through completion. QA settlement documentation, including court orders, W-8/W-9 forms, and banking details. Payment Processing & Supplier Onboarding (30%) Review, validate, and submit payment requests through the client’s finance and procurement systems. Initiate and manage supplier onboarding for payees, legal vendors, and outside counsel. Monitor processing timelines and escalate urgent payments that need expedited handling. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination (25%) Work with Finance, Tax, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and supplier teams to manage the pipeline and resolve processing issues. Follow up with legal teams worldwide to clarify requirements and collect missing documentation. Respond to internal teams and outside counsel on payment status and requirements. Process Support (5%) Maintain process documentation and the Legal Operations team’s internal resources. Qualifications Hands-on experience owning legal settlement payments end to end, from documentation through confirmed payment. This could come from a law firm, an in-house legal or finance team, or a settlement or claims administrator. 3+ years in legal finance, settlement administration, legal operations, accounting, or procurement. Bachelor’s degree, ideally in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. Working knowledge of W-8/W-9 requirements, supplier onboarding, and invoice or payment workflows. Exceptional attention to detail with legal and financial documents. Ability to manage many high-priority, non-standard requests at once without losing accuracy. A clear, proactive communicator who can explain payment requirements to lawyers and other non-finance stakeholders. Strong Excel skills. Preferred Experience ERP systems, especially Oracle Fusion Legal e-billing platforms Cross-border and foreign-currency payments Third-party assessment or vendor compliance processes Working with global teams across time zones Why This Role This is a chance to own a critical legal payment function at one of the world’s leading technology companies, working across Legal, Finance, and Treasury at real scale. It’s ideal for a settlement or legal-finance professional who wants to run the whole process, with the flexibility and support of the Epiq Counsel model.
