Extended Day Assistant

Job Description The Extended Day Assistant supports the daily operations of the school’s after school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students. This role involves supervising children, assisting with homework, leading enrichment and recreational activities, and maintaining open communication with families and staff. Key Responsibilities Supervise and engage students in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. Assist students with homework, reading, and other academic tasks. Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, and enrichment activities. Ensure proper arrival and dismissal procedures are followed. Support the Extended Day Lead Teacher in planning and implementing activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Monitor student behavior and follow program policies and procedures. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or related field (preferred). Teacher Certification (preferred). Qualifications Experience working with children in an educational, camp, or childcare setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in emergency situations. Must pass background checks and meet required clearances.
