About the Role

The Company is seeking a Founding Chief Executive Officer to lead the establishment and development of an organization dedicated to addressing the environmental challenges of the Gulf region. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the organization's strategic direction, structure, and external presence, with a focus on creating a trinational commitment to environmental stewardship. This role demands a leader with a deep commitment to the Gulf's ecological and economic vitality, capable of balancing strategy and execution, and of building and leading a high-performing team. The CEO will be the primary external representative, engaging with diverse stakeholders across the U.S., Mexico, and Cuba, and will be instrumental in shaping the organization's approach to ensure it is effective and sustainable. Applicants for the CEO position at the company should be bilingual in Spanish and English, with 10-15 years' experience in Gulf or marine conservation, and a proven track record in leadership and team building. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complex political and cultural environments, and to establish credibility and trust with a wide range of external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental, conservation, or related fields, and an advanced degree is preferred. While direct experience in fundraising, policy, or conservation is not mandatory, the CEO should have meaningful exposure to these areas and the ability to effectively lead and support experts in each domain.
