Mental Health Technician

Horizon Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician for our BRAND NEW unit called Altru Behavioral Health Center in Grand Forks, ND. This unit will be a 24 bed inpatient unit for both adult and pediatric patients. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. The MHT will perform selected patient care activities under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. Primary duties include observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reporting this information to the Registered Nurse. This position is also responsible for escorting and monitoring patient activities and attending to their personal needs. The MHT must be capable of physically assisting patients, dealing with patient emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required
• Minimum one year experience
• Crisis prevention experience
• Ability to manage anger, fear, hostility and aggression in others
• Ability to manage stress appropriately
• Proficient in applicable software applications
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
