MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Medical Assistant – ClinicThe Medical Assistant is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. This role helps ensure efficient patient flow, delivers high-quality patient care, and maintains accurate medical records while promoting a positive patient experience.Clinical DutiesWelcome and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as directed and within scope of practice.Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing.Clean, disinfect, and prepare examination rooms and medical equipment.Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.Maintain infection control and safety standards.Administrative DutiesSchedule patient appointments and manage clinic calendars.Verify patient information, insurance, and demographic records.Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescriptions, and medical forms.Order and maintain clinical supplies and inventory.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required based on state regulations.Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.Previous experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.Skills and CompetenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.Proficiency with computers and medical office software.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.Manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures.Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
