Junior Escalation Network Engineer
We are looking for a proactive Junior Escalation Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in resolving complex network issues that have been escalated from the first-line support team. This role involves working closely with senior engineers to ensure network stability and performance.
This is a fully on-site role based in Winston-Salem, NC. Candidates must currently reside in North Carolina or be willing to relocate prior to start.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for escalated network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems involving routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to diagnose and fix network performance issues.
- Monitor network performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
- Assist in the implementation and configuration of network hardware and software.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of both wired and wireless networking
- Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
- Certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent are a plus.
Experience with Networking Vendors
Exposure to or hands on experience with one or more of the following vendor technologies is highly beneficial.

- Ruckus
- WatchGuard
