Job Description
Preferred Data Corporation is seeking a Junior Helpdesk Technician to provide entry‑level technical support to users and assist with software, hardware, and network‑related issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide first‑line technical support to users via phone, email, or in‑person for software, hardware, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common IT problems, such as login issues or software errors, with guidance from senior staff.
- Assist with setting up workstations, installing software, and configuring basic network settings.
- Document support tickets and resolutions accurately in the helpdesk system.
- Collaborate with the IT team on projects to support company technology needs.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and industry standards in all support activities.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS, common software (e.g., Microsoft Office), and basic networking concepts.
- Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for user support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional on‑site support.
- CompTIA A+, IT Fundamentals, or similar certifications are preferred but not required.
