Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour variable day/night shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract length
• Work every other weekend and holiday
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Subject to low census hours - can be reduced in hour increments (typically 4-hour increments)
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience required
• Recent hospital experience and Trauma level II experience required
• Prior travel experience REQUIRED
• Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility
• Epic charting experience REQUIRED
• Work with Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Provide care for 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit following recovery
• Nurse to patient ratio: days/evenings 1:4-5, nights 1:5-7
• Handle 10-15 admissions per day in fast-paced environment
• Care for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Unit maintains 90-95% occupancy with average 2-3 day length of stay
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Mask required at all times during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccination

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit that provides specialized care for adults and geriatric patients throughout their surgical journey. The facility maintains high patient volume with excellent occupancy rates and focuses on fast-paced, efficient post-surgical care. The organization utilizes advanced technology including Epic EMR systems and modern medical equipment to ensure quality patient outcomes in a collaborative team environment.
