General Statement of Responsibilities:

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for coordinating resident care services to ensure residents maintain the highest level of independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and Title 22 RCFE regulations. The RSC oversees care staff operations, resident assessments, service planning, training compliance, and interdisciplinary coordination while serving as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, hospitals, and community agencies.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervises, coaches, evaluates, schedules, and monitors performance of resident services staffin accordance withcompany policies.

1. Participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of qualified care staff.

1. Makes recommendationsregardingpromotions, disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, and terminations.

1. Coordinates and oversees completion of pre-admission assessments, admission evaluations, service plans, and periodic reassessments.

1. Ensures each resident has a current Needs and ServicesPlanand that care staff are trained on service delivery requirements.

1. Monitors residents for changes in status and ensurestimelycommunication with physicians, families, and leadership.

1. Conducts or oversees service plan meetings and interdisciplinary care coordination meetings.

1. Ensures resident care services are provided in compliance with Title 22 regulations, licensing standards, and company policies.

1. Maintainsaccurate,timely, and confidential resident documentation.

1. Participates in licensing inspections, audits, and regulatory surveys.

1. Oversees orientation and ongoing training programs for care staff, ensuring compliance with state-required training hours.

1. Ensures staffmaintaincertifications andrequiredcompetencies related to dementia care, medicationassistance, and emergency response.

1. Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance development to support staff effectiveness and service quality.

1. Coordinates communication with physicians, pharmacies, and health providersregardingresident medications and treatment orders.

1. Oversees medication systems, storage procedures, and documentation practicesin accordance withregulatory requirements.

1. Coordinates emergency preparedness procedures, including fire safety andevacuationreadiness.

1. Assistsin departmental budgeting andmonitorsoperational expenses.

1. Maintainssupply inventory related to resident services operations.

1. Participates in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.

1. Supports occupancy goals through collaboration with Marketing and Admissions teams.

1. Performs administrative duties necessary for efficient department operations.

1. Demonstrates knowledge of common medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols related to medication administration.

1. Follows all infection control and safety protocols, including hand hygiene, universal precautions, and bloodborne pathogen procedures.

1. Maintains current licensure or certification as required by state regulations.

1. Reports occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous substances per company policy.

1. Complies withall mandated reporting requirements under California law,immediatelyreporting any known or suspected abuse of dependent adults or elders.

1. Communicate any observed or suspected resident changes in condition totheappropriate supervisorimmediately.

1. Monitors safety practices and addresses risks proactively.

1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards and procedures.

1. Promote teamwork through cooperative and respectful interactions with co-workers and other departments.

1. Worka flexible schedule as needed to support events, tours, and community outreach.

1. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Required: Minimum age 21 as required by RCFE regulations. Experience in assisted living, senior housing, healthcare, or related field. Supervisory or leadership experience. Knowledge of Title 22 RCFE regulations. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain, RCFE Administrator certification

Licenses/Certifications:

LVN (Licensed vocational nurse), CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant), Certificate in Assistance of Self-Administration of Medications Preferred.

Ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds, resolve conflicts, negotiate situations, and facilitate consensus.  

Physical and Personal Requirements:

Walk, sit or stand for long periods of time. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC.

Compliance:

Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all Lantern Crest policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory and generally has a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to one’s department and position. All Lantern Crest employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations. 

Other:

Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a urine drug screen test. Candidates will be required to undergo a physical to ensure health is adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicants must complete application and authorization form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check consisting of fingerprinting and criminal records check with DOJ and FBI, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
