Sr Financial Analyst

Job Summary Senior (Sr.) Financial Analyst at Houston Methodist will maintain and perform complex data analysis related to the clinical or financial performance of assigned entities, hospitals, or contractual relationships. The role compiles and reports financial information, collaborates with cross‑functional teams, and serves as a liaison with Information Technology, Business Intelligence, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities Conduct and analyze financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, compliance monitoring, and ad hoc reporting for clinical trials and grant management. Maintain and update monthly dashboards of key indicators and external benchmarks. Generate statistical reports in graphical and other presentation formats. Assist with annual operating budgets and financial reconciliations. Provide payer reimbursement analysis and financial reconciliation as needed. Collaborate with investigators, sponsors, and institutional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial management in a fast‑paced academic/healthcare environment. Prepare and maintain revenue models, contract analytics, and system‑level financial tools. Identify performance issues, research solutions, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives. Support department administrators and leadership in budget management and financial guidance. Lead training and onboarding for junior team members and act as a subject‑matter expert. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field. Three years of financial, budget, or cost accounting analysis experience; experience in a health‑care environment preferred. Certifications preferred: Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – State Licensure. Knowledge of cost accounting systems, hospital patient databases, and health‑care financial systems. Skills & Abilities Strong analytical, statistical, and data modeling skills. Effective communication with patients, physicians, families, and colleagues. Project management and advanced problem‑solving capabilities. Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
