About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join a growing Transportation practice in Brooklyn, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, to manage cases from inception through trial and appeal while gaining valuable courtroom experience and direct client interaction. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative legal environment that supports professional development and long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel to property owners on real estate, landlord-tenant, and related
• Handle motion practice, oral arguments, and court appearances.
• Attend court conferences, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and witnesses.
• Develop case strategies and manage litigation matters while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely completion of legal work.
• Collaborate with attorneys and colleagues to deliver effective legal representation.
• Apply knowledge of New York insurance defense practices and No-Fault law where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York required; candidates with pending admission may be considered. New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
• Minimum of 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Familiarity with New York No-Fault law is preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage client relationships, and take ownership of cases.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Willingness to provide a writing sample before the interview.
