QC Supervisor - Nuclear

Summary The Quality Supervisor - Nuclear is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance activities to ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role leads quality technicians/inspectors, monitors production quality metrics, and works with operations to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This position empowers hourly workforce to accomplish 100% quality, responsiveness, production, customer service and safety in a team-based environment. A successful candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to work efficiently and effectively with other functional areas to meet or exceed quality and delivery requirements. Seeking someone with solid leadership skills and a background in Quality. Responsibilities Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary for your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.- Manages performance evaluations, interaction and disciplinary process.
- Manages staffing and scheduling (including overtime and vacation).
- Assists teams (including maintenance and engineering) with continuous improvement initiatives (driving safety, quality and process efficiencies).
- Manages goal setting, tracking and communication.
- Identifies training needs and coordinates cross-training opportunities.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct audits of processes, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
- Technical knowledge with the ability to communicate with operators, engineers, production and maintenance
- Ability to delegate and promote team growth
- Excellent analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization
- 6 or more years in a manufacturing environment
- 6 or more years in a leadership position
- Strong knowledge of equipment capabilities, pressure vessels and welding, ASME, and NDE
- Knowledge of ASME Section VII Div 1
- Non Destructive Examination (NDE)
- Knowledge of NQA-1 related quality program
- Quality Auditing experience
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions and weld symbols.
- Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality
- Highly motivated self-starter that is adept at taking initiative
- Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 10 hours a day
- Auditing Internal and Supplier control
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift.
- Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend.
- Must be able to see, speak, and hear.
- Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices.
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts.
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Must wear all required PPE.
- Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
- Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.
