Employment Start This employment will begin August 11, 2026, for the FY2026-2027 Metro Schools Schedule. Salary Associate: $53,571.00 Bachelor: $56,998.00 Master: $58,611.00 Typical Duties Provides nursing services in Metro Nashville/Davidson County Schools. Evaluates the health needs of students attending assigned schools. Provides or arranges for selected screenings and assessments. Provides care coordination/case management. Provides generalized health services. Implements medication distribution system. Maintains student health records. Performs related duties. Minimum Qualifications Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Tennessee. Applicants holding a registered nurse license from a state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact may be hired, provided they obtain a Tennessee license within thirty days of hire. Diploma or associate’s degree in nursing. Candidates with a diploma or associate’s degree must demonstrate ability to competently perform all functions of this classification. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. All public health nurses must complete a department‑approved Certificate in Public Health as a condition of continued employment. Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of a personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee law. Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities At least six months experience as a registered nurse.
