Carpenter HelpersWe are now accepting applications for Carpenter Helpers for the Morgan City, LA and surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:Scope of Work: As a carpenter helper, you work both in homes and outside on construction sites, using many types of hand and power tools. Duties include completing basic demolition, cleaning up and preparing work sites, delivering materials, and setting up ladders and temporary structures.Assist leading carpenters to complete projects in timeRequired Skills: Ability to use electric & hand tools efficientlyCarpentry skills REQUIREDConstruction background preferredStrong oral & written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with othersProven ability to solve problems creativelyExcellent organizational skills, ability to multi-taskDuties/Responsibilities: Using rigging hardware and cranes to erect, install, and level building frameworks.Measuring, shaping, and also cutting plastic, wood, fiberglass and other construction materials throughout the project.Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazardsIdentifies and distributes building materials to appropriate locations, according to project specifications.Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand toolsBuilds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed.Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages.Manage house keeping activities when requested. Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environmentMeet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standardsReport safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediatelyPhysical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 55 lbsMust have good enduranceWill be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform task(s)Ability to work in varying hot and cold environmentsAbility to work outdoors in harsh weather conditionsAbility to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gasesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditionsThe employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shockDocuments Required: Driver's License/IdentificationSocial Security Card/Birth CertificateMust have reliable transportationMust be able to pass a drug screenPay: $17.00 - $22.00 (Based on experience)Weekly PayPay Schedule: Monday - SundaySchedule: Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed) 7 AM - 5 PM (Must be flexible)Duration of Job: Temp to Hire (Based on job performance)Tasks beyond those listed above will be asked of you, so a positive, can-do attitude is required.
