Job Title Travel RN – Critical Care (ICU), Days Location Alexandria, Louisiana Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 or 48 hours per week guarantee available | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement | No floating requirement Key Responsibilities Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU patients in a mixed cardiac and medical critical care unit Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations Required Qualifications Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) and Impella devices Experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgeries and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Preferred Experience / Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Prior experience managing patients with DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator management in a mixed cardiac/medical ICU environment Why Join Us Guaranteed hours (36 or 48 hours per week) provide schedule stability throughout the 13-week assignment Work in a specialized mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 for ICU patients, supporting focused, high-quality patient care Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 771361.
