Job Title Travel RN – Critical Care (ICU) – Days Location Alexandria, Louisiana Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36–48 hours per week available Key Responsibilities Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned ICU patients in a mixed cardiac and medical critical care setting Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively Required Qualifications Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required Demonstrated experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) Demonstrated experience with Impella devices Demonstrated experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgeries and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Preferred Experience / Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Minimum of one year of experience in a critical care setting, with exposure to patient populations including DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator-dependent patients Experience in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU environment Why Join Us Work in a dynamic mixed cardiac and medical ICU with a manageable nurse-to-patient ratio (2:1 for ICU patients) and no on-call or floating requirements Temp-to-permanent conversion is a possibility, offering potential long-term career opportunity upon successful completion of the assignment Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 770512.
