Litigation Associate

Burg Simpson attorneys handle some of the most complex, high-stakes injury litigation in the country. Our attorneys take on real responsibility drafting, strategizing cases and working directly to impact the lives of injury clients while developing skills alongside senior trial lawyers who have tried cases to verdict.Responsibility of the position includes:Carrying a full load of personal injury, medical malpractice or a combination of cases from intake through resolutionConducting legal research, drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and arguing motionsTaking an active role in the discovery process including the taking and defending of deposition for both lay and expert witnessesPreparing for and attending court hearings and trialCollaborating with other attorneys and legal staff in developing case management strategies for complex legal issues while ensuring comprehensive client servicesAdvocating for injured clients with skill, judgment, and genuine careRequirements of the position include:Active license to practice law in the State of Arizona and admission to practice in federal courtProgressive civil litigation experience in the practice areas of plaintiff personal injury or medical malpractice, including familiarity and application of state and federal rules of civil procedure, rules of evidence and attorney rules of ethical conductExcellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to produce thoughtful and persuasive legal documentsComfortable managing a full litigation caseload, working collaboratively, and delivering high-quality service to clientsStrong courtroom and advocacy experience with confidence in representing clients in various legal settings (deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial)First chair trial or arbitration experience with knowledge of trial and hearing procedures are preferred, but not required depending upon the candidates level of experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
