This position will be available at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV and report directly to the Polymers Manufacturing Technology Manager.This role will serve as a Process Engineer in the Polymers operations at Washington Works. The individual will provide overall Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams in the Polymers Area. This will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of yield, uptime, reliability, cost, safety, new capital installations, etc.Individual unit operations include but are not limited to: reactors, pumps, piping, tanks, dryers, heat exchangers, filtration, scrubbing, extrusion, etc.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Act as a Process Engineering resourceRecommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvementAssist with recommendations for day-to-day troubleshootingLead and participate in incident investigationsParticipate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA)Lead capital projects for various improvementsProvide environmental supportTravel requirements are less than 10%The following is required for this role:BS in Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer with a process backgroundDemonstrated basic knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.)Good Oral and Written skillsWilling and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.Five years or more of engineering experienceThe following is preferred for this role:10 years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing processExperience leading/participating in Process Hazards AnalysesSix Sigma Green Belt (or higher) CertificationBenefits:Competitive CompensationComprehensive Benefits Packages401(k) MatchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramTuition ReimbursementCommuter BenefitsLearning and Development OpportunitiesStrong Inclusion and Diversity InitiativesCompany-paid Volunteer DayWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
