Modern Plastics in Shelton, CT, is hiring TWO (2) experienced CNC Machinist for our plastics fabrication and machining team.

Here's what we need: someone with real hands-on experience running CNC routers or milling centers, who understands machining fundamentals, and who can set up a job independently, accurately, and without hand-holding.

What you'd actually be doing:

- Setting up CNC routers — tooling selection, fixturing, offsets, program loading

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions

- Running first article inspections and adjusting setups to hold dimensional accuracy

- Verifying material, tooling, and job readiness before production starts

- Troubleshooting setup issues, tooling wear, and machine performance

- Keeping a clean, organized station and following safety protocol

- Working with programmers, supervisors, and production staff to improve how we machine things

- Handling the physical demands that come with the job

What we're looking for:

- 3+ years of CNC machining or CNC router setup experience preferred

- Solid grasp of machining practices, tooling, and measurement equipment

- Can work independently and as part of a team

- Actually cares about quality, safety, and getting better at the job

- Mastercam knowledge is a plus
