Diesel Lube & Tire Technician

Description

Responsible for the safe and efficient application of a wide variety of truck service activities and equipment. Assist with keeping the facility well stocked and clean to perform proper repair procedures in a safe environment. Conduct company business and execute programs on behalf of the company in a professional manner and with a whole company approach. Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.

• Wage : $24.00-$26.00/hr.
• Schedule : Weekends required
• Work Status : Full-Time

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class C Drivers’ License (State of Oregon or Washington), clean Motor Vehicle Record. CDL License preferred.
• Prior experience in mechanical environment or recent graduate of diesel school program preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers and technicians.
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and support fellow technicians.
• Technical proficiency in tire services, oil changes, and minor repairs.
• Problem-solving ability to identify maintenance needs and recommend solutions.
• Attention to detail in performing services and documenting work.
• Awareness of safety standards and proper tool and equipment handling.
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Organizational skills to maintain a tidy workspace and track inventory.
• Adaptability to learn new skills and adjust to changing requirements.
• Reliability in maintaining punctuality and completing tasks consistently.
• Physical stamina for tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

This position is based in a fast-paced diesel repair and maintenance shop. Team members spend most of their workday on their feet and must be comfortable working in a busy environment with multiple ongoing tasks, equipment, and distractions. The role requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, climbing, and maintaining balance while performing maintenance and repair work on commercial vehicles. Employees regularly handle tools, equipment, tires, parts, and vehicle components.

This position frequently requires lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with or without assistance. Candidates must possess the visual ability to safely inspect vehicles, identify components, distinguish colors, judge distances, and work around moving equipment. Employees regularly work near moving mechanical parts and may perform work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure to noise, vibration, diesel exhaust, airborne particles, lubricants, cleaning chemicals, and other shop-related substances is common. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required.
