Position Summary BrightPath is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function for our 245D-licensed behavioral health organization serving more than 200 employees. This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with employment law, 245D regulations, and organizational standards within a behavioral health and disability services environment. You'll partner closely with leadership to create scalable HR systems that support continued growth, strengthen accountability, and develop leaders throughout the organization. Experience within behavioral health, disability services, healthcare, or another regulated human services environment is strongly preferred.

Position Summary BrightPath is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function for our 245D-licensed behavioral health organization serving more than 200 employees. This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with employment law, 245D regulations, and organizational standards within a behavioral health and disability services environment. You'll partner closely with leadership to create scalable HR systems that support continued growth, strengthen accountability, and develop leaders throughout the organization. Experience within behavioral health, disability services, healthcare, or another regulated human services environment is strongly preferred.
What You'll Lead As Director of Human Resources, you'll oversee the organization's HR strategy and daily operations, including:
- Talent acquisition and recruitment for both high-volume direct care positions and specialized clinical roles
- HR operations, employee relations, performance management, and compliance
- Workforce planning aligned with staffing needs, licensing requirements, scheduling, and organizational growth
- 245D regulatory processes, including background studies (NETStudy), MVR clearances, documentation, and audit readiness
- Compensation administration, benefits, leave management, workers' compensation, unemployment and HR policies
- Performance management and corrective action processes that support both compliance and employee accountability
- Coaching and supporting leaders in performance management, employee development, and organizational effectiveness
- Partner with the executive leadership team to implement and sustain EOS People tools, including the Accountability Chart, People Analyzer, Quarterly Conversations, and organizational adherence to BrightPath's Core Values
- Significant experience in behavioral health, disability services, human services, or another regulated care environment
- Demonstrated HR leadership or substantial people leadership responsibilities within operations
- Working knowledge of 245D licensing requirements, DHS expectations, NETStudy, MVR processes, and HR documentation standards
- Experience leading employee relations, performance management, compliance initiatives, and organizational change
- Strong systems thinking with a history of improving recruiting, retention, compliance, or workforce processes
- Experience supporting a multi-site, 24/7 workforce with frontline staffing challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Human Services, Social Work, Business, or a related field
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other advanced HR certification is preferred but not required for candidates with significant behavioral health leadership experience
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience
- Three to five years in an HR leadership role or another position with significant responsibility for people strategy and HR functions
- Experience using HRIS systems and workforce data to support decision-making
- Demonstrated success improving workforce planning, recruiting, retention, accountability, or compliance
- Experience within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is preferred but not required. We value leaders who embrace accountability and continuous improvement and are excited to learn and utilize EOS tools to strengthen organizational performance.
