Material Handler

Our client, a leading logistics and manufacturing organization, is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the Inventory Department supporting production and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to safety and efficiency, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Jamaica, NY

Pay Range: $17 - $18/hr

Shift: 1st Shift 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

What's the Job?

• Implement and maintain systems for efficient material handling and storage.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials onto and off trucks.
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Prepare finished materials for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, and securing products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any material-related issues or discrepancies.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in receiving, inventory control, and stocking materials.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Experience with data entry and inventory management software such as Epicor CRM.
• Ability to operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or reach trucks (certification preferred).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
