Full Time Operations TX-Galveston 6800 Harborside, Galveston, TX, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 2510 Role and Responsibilities This position supports the dredge with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation (EIA) system. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager. Electrical system includes installation, troubleshooting, the repair of AC/DC and synchronous motors, MCC’s switchgears, controls, fault protection relays, breakers, and transformers. Instrumentation system includes installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Instrumentation that includes Pressure Transmitters, flow meters, level transducers, RTD/Thermocouple temperature sensors, light switches, proximity switches, encoders, etc. Automation systems include the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC and computer systems, network switches, and any other related components. Qualifications and Education Requirements The employee must have: Familiarity with using Electrical Test Equipment such as high voltage testers, multi-meters, meggers, and calibrators. I&E Certification/Degree highly preferred. Ability to read electrical wiring schematics. Willingness to fill in as a relief Electrician on dredges. Must be willing to travel to dredges. 3 or more years’ experience in the electrical field. Must be able to read electrical drawings (Instrumentation) Be willing to live in Galveston or willing to relocate. Must be reliable and motivated. Ability to obtain TWIC. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results driven. Preferred Skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work. Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs individually. Anything greater than 30lbs and up to 60lbs will require additional lifting means. Must be able to push and pull at peak force of 150lbs. Climbing stairs and/or vertical ladders of a height of 6ft or greater. Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights. Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
