Prin. Test Engineer - Onsite

Principal Test Engineer role at Medtronic's Neuromodulation division in Lafayette, Colorado. Lead system-level verification and validation strategy for interventional medical devices from development through commercialization, driving test methods and regulatory-ready documentation for ablation and pain management products.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level verification and validation strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for new product programs
• Design, validate, and implement test methods evaluating system compatibility, reliability, mechanical and electrical performance, and tissue interaction
• Generate regulatory submission-ready documentation including verification reports, validation reports, and traceability evidence
• Lead user needs validation activities in real or simulated use environments and document design effectiveness
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, laboratory personnel, and external development partners

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years engineering or technical testing experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years
• Experience leading system-level verification and validation planning and execution for complex products
• Ability to develop test methods, verification protocols, acceptance criteria, and technical reports
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals and associated test equipment
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional product development teams
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace, or defense (preferred)
• Knowledge of IEC 60601 standards, electrical safety, and electromagnetic compatibility testing (preferred)
