About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Catastrophe Portfolio Management. This role is pivotal in shaping the portfolio strategy, with a focus on using catastrophe analytics, climate insights, and emerging risk research to influence underwriting decisions and optimize a global portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing portfolio views and optimization strategies, researching emerging perils and climate trends, and building analytics and tools using Python and SQL. The role also involves creating dashboards and insights to support senior underwriting leadership and driving a more data-driven and innovative approach to catastrophe risk. Candidates for this position should have a background in commercial property CAT modeling or exposure management, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and a desire to have a significant impact on business strategy. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and programming skills, with a preference for Python, and demonstrate an interest in portfolio analytics, automation, and data science. While exposure to specialty lines such as terror or cyber is advantageous, it is not essential. The role is suited to individuals who are passionate about the intersection of data and business strategy and are looking to make a meaningful contribution to the company's portfolio management.
