Registered Professional Nurse

FULTON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES ANNOUNCES THE FOLLOWING: REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE FULTON, HAMILTON, HERKIMER, MONTGOMERY OR SARATOGA COUNTY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED This is a permanent part-time, 17.5 hours per week non-competitive position in the Department of Social Services 2026 Salary: $30.053 per hour (less than 1 year experience) $35.291 per hour (more than 1 year experience) TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES (Illustrative but not exhaustive): Assess patient nursing care needs and prepares, implements and evaluates the nursing care plan; May act as a team leader over licensed practical nurses and auxiliary health care staff; Gives skilled nursing care and prescribed treatments to patients and demonstrates nursing care to patients and families; Identifies physical and emotional illness of patients through observation and analysis of records; Coordinates plans for care with nutritionists, social worker, physical therapists, physicians and other professional health workers concerned with individuals and family health care; Counsels and guides individuals and families in the prevention of illness and the attainment of maximum health; Instructs patient or family members in regard to patient’s diet, health habits, the carrying out of treatments at home and rehabilitation measures; Maintains essential nursing care records and reports. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or a high school individual education plan diploma, and licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State or have a limited permit to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State or have an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
