Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Morgantown, WV | Stepdown & Floor (Mixed Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | 2 weekends per schedule required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed mixed unit (12 Stepdown beds and 20 general floor beds) with patient populations including chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and overflow from various services
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on the Stepdown side and 1:4–6 on the floor side
• Titrate drips as required in the Stepdown setting; administer PCAs, heparin, and similar medications on the floor side
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor technicians who continuously monitor strips
• Participate in hospice care, including General Inpatient (GIP) Hospice patients assigned to the unit
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed per facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Current BLS certification (required)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (fully vaccinated: 2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review and approval
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with titrating drips in a monitored care environment
• Experience working with a mixed acuity patient population including medical-surgical and hospice patients
