Job Title

Level II Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge as needed per unit | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent, patient-centered care in a Medical Surgical float capacity based on established clinical standards
• Assume expanded role responsibilities including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member functions as needed
• Apply evidence-based practice and research to support clinical decision-making and service excellence
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Participate in professional development activities in alignment with unit and organizational goals

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Ability to work rotating day, evening, and night shifts including every other weekend and holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a float pool or multi-unit nursing environment
• Experience serving in charge nurse or preceptor roles
