Digital Product Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC Salary: $61.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD Hourly Description: Digital Product Manager / Product Owner, GenAI & Data We are not accepting C2C or 1099 arrangements. Location: Charlotte, NC Engagement Type: Contingent Resource Assignment About the Role As a Digital Product Manager / Product Owner , you will help drive the strategy, execution, and delivery of complex digital products and capabilities, with an emphasis on Generative AI (GenAI), data integration, APIs, and digital experiences . You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, UX/UI, QA, and business stakeholders to translate complex product features into clear, actionable requirements and user stories. You will manage and prioritize the product backlog, identify cross-functional dependencies, support Agile delivery, validate product functionality, and help ensure solutions meet business, technical, data, performance, and compliance requirements. This role requires a combination of product ownership, technical acumen, data analysis, and stakeholder management , along with the ability to operate effectively across large-scale and complex initiatives. Responsibilities Product Backlog & Requirements Management Partner with the Product Manager to maintain, refine, and prioritize the product backlog. Translate prioritized features and business requirements into clear functional and nonfunctional user stories for Engineering and Data Science teams. Identify the components required to deliver product features, including UI, backend services, APIs, data, and GenAI capabilities . Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria and Definition of Done . Translate complex business and technical requirements into implementation-ready stories. Identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and requirements across systems and teams. Product Execution & Agile Delivery Quickly develop an understanding of product features, technical requirements, GenAI capabilities, and business context. Lead or support backlog refinement sessions with Engineering and Data Science teams to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are understood. Partner with Agile teams to understand capacity, velocity, story sizing, and delivery constraints . Participate in sprint planning and provide recommendations on story prioritization and sprint goals. Identify cross-team dependencies and coordinate with Product Owners and delivery teams to align priorities and schedules. Partner with Engineering and Data Science teams on solution approaches, considering scalability, extensibility, reliability, and performance . Conduct Product Owner validation of completed user stories, releases, and product launches. Coordinate with QA teams to ensure appropriate coverage of business-critical scenarios. Lead or coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) , including test execution, results reporting, defect management, and prioritization. UX & Digital Experience Partner closely with UX/UI teams to translate product requirements into intuitive digital experiences. Review designs and user flows to ensure alignment with product requirements and technical capabilities. Incorporate usability, accessibility, performance, and end-to-end customer experience considerations into product requirements. Data Product Ownership Define and analyze data requirements for GenAI and digital product capabilities . Explore and evaluate potential data sources based on business and product requirements. Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Science, Engineering, and other stakeholders to understand available data and integration capabilities. Develop source-to-target data mappings across two or more systems. Analyze and validate source data to identify potential data quality issues. Develop user stories and acceptance criteria for: Data integrations APIs Batch data processing Data validation and testing GenAI-related data requirements Use SQL and NoSQL technologies to investigate data, validate requirements, and support troubleshooting. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a liaison across Product, Engineering, Data Science, UX/UI, QA, and business stakeholders. Facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve impediments and maintain delivery momentum. Communicate sprint progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to appropriate stakeholders. Document key decisions, meeting notes, action items, and ownership. Maintain a centralized repository for product and project documentation that is accessible to key stakeholders. Consult with client personnel and business partners on complex product initiatives and delivery considerations. Minimum Qualifications 5 years of experience in Digital Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a related discipline , or equivalent experience demonstrated through a combination of work experience, consulting, education, training, or military experience. Experience translating complex business and technical features into detailed, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) , including requirements, development, testing, validation, and release. Experience with Agile/Scrum product development practices, including backlog management, refinement, sprint planning, and UAT. Strong understanding of: System and application flows Software architecture concepts APIs and integrations Database structures Web application development Application performance UI/UX development 2 years of experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL queries. Experience analyzing complex datasets and performing data validation and mapping. Working knowledge of JSON, REST APIs, and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications . Experience with relational and/or document databases, including technologies such as Teradata and MongoDB . Experience with product and development tools such as Jira, Figma, and Postman . Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and business communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies in a complex, cross-functional environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing or supporting AI/ML or Generative AI products . Experience working with financial services products, data, or technology platforms . Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application within enterprise products. Familiarity with prompt engineering and prompt evaluation . Understanding of Responsible AI principles and frameworks , including considerations related to data privacy, security, explainability, fairness, governance, and model risk. Experience collaborating directly with Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or Data Engineering teams.
